What meals are included in the price of my walking holiday?  Our policy is to build as much flexibility as possible into a walking holiday, allowing you the freedom to do your own thing and sample the local food when and where you want it.  Hence all walking holiday and winter walking holiday prices featured on this website include breakfast only (continental). If not otherwise stated this applies also to our city add ons. However, at an extra cost you can opt to stay on a half board basis, which means breakfast plus evening meal at your accommodation is included in the price you pay.

What’s the difference between bed & breakfast and half board?  Bed and breakfast means that the holiday price includes the cost of breakfast.  When we say half board we mean your holiday price includes breakfast as well as the evening meal at your hotel.  If you book half board you will receive dinner on the day of arrival and breakfast on departure day.  Where a walking holiday includes half board, dinner may be a set menu; for late arrivals hotels usually provide a cold plate.  Some hotels may prefer to ask guests to order dinner at breakfast time as the produce is ordered fresh from the market each day.  Tea and coffee after dinner are not normally included in the price and are charged extra by the hotel.

Can I choose the hotel myself before I book?  We regret we cannot provide the hotel details prior to travel document issue date, as all our accommodation is booked on a request basis to suit our flexible dates. The details of your hotel (hotel voucher, address and contact details, travel directions) will be forwarded to you together with your tour pack prior to the start of your holiday.  However, a general description of the hotel, its facilities and location, can be found in the fact file of your chosen holiday.

What time do I check in and check out?  The standard check in time at most destinations is from 4.00 pm onwards.  Please contact the hotel directly if you expect to arrive later than 7.00 pm.  Check out time on the day of your departure is usually at 10.00 am, but this may vary.  Please make sure you confirm this with the reception staff of your hotel.

What happens to my hotel reservation if my flight is delayed?  Your hotel is prepaid for the duration of your stay and therefore guaranteed.  However, if you expect to arrive very late, please notify the hotel directly of your estimated arrival time!  The contact details for your reserved hotel can be found in your tour pack.  Please note: no refunds can be made for unused portions of your walking holiday due to late arrivals or early departures.

What if I have a problem at the hotel?  In the unlikely event that you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your accommodation, please speak immediately to the hotelier.  We have chosen hotels and traditional country inns with excellent personal service and their staff will try their best to help.  However, please be aware that any change made while you are staying at a particular hotel may incur extra charges.  If for any reason the problem is not resolved locally our German office is your backup emergency service number.  Problems must be notified to our office during your stay at the hotel, as resolution after completion of travel is nearly always impossible.

However, before complaining, please consider whether you have taken into account the specific information on this site with regards to accommodation.  To go to this important page prior to booking your walking holiday please click here.

Can I make a special request?  Yes. If you have any special requests you would like to make please do so at the time of booking in the special request field of the booking form (e.g. dietary requirements, non-smoking rooms).  Special requests will be passed on to the accommodation supplier concerned.  We will of course do our best to help, but we must stress that we cannot guarantee that any request will be met.  Failure to meet a special request will not be a breach of contract on our part.

What is the hotel voucher?  It is a document that proves you have prepaid for accommodation and must be presented upon check in at the hotel.  The hotel voucher will be forwarded to you together with your tour pack.

When will I get the hotel voucher?  Your hotel voucher is included in your tour pack, which we will post to you 3-4 weeks prior to the start of your walking holiday.
